So Sorry and Too Kind

Well we are to the start of a new week.  We were busy last week watching our Grandson for three day, he had a virus and a high fever, so no daycare for him and he was so good even though he didn't really feel well.

My friend sent me a text Saturday morning saying she had to send her dog, Dolly, across the Rainbow Bridge.  Dolly had cancer and was having some other health issues too.  It is a very hard decision to make and to go through, so I made a card on Sunday to send to her to let her know we are thinking of her.

I kept the front very simple.  On the inside I stamped a image from Bella and Friends (no picture because I had already written my note to her and didn't want to share that).  The inside sentiment from the So Sorry set (retired) says..."for the loss of your beloved pet".

The card stock base is Emerald Envy, then Whisper White on top.
Ink colors I used were Sweetsugar Plum, Old Olive and Memento Black
I used the tip of my marker, Sweetsugar Plum to create a splatter effect on the card front.

I hope she finds comfort in my simple card.  Mary

You've Got This

I'm still teaching myself to use Stampin' Up! new Watercolor Pencils and I'm using both the Blender Pen and the Aqua Painter.  For this card I used the Aqua Painter and Staz-On black ink.  I did stamp the image on Watercolor paper, as I find I have more control with it.  I also find, for myself, that if I remove the brush part from the water barrel, I have more control over the amount of water too, which is just easier for me, as I can dip just the tip into some water, if I need more.

I needed a card to send to our vet, who is going through chemo right now and I decided to send her this card.

To achieve the water color look to the background, I used some watercolor paper, spritzed it with some water and then inked up the Watercolor Wash background stamp with Blushing Bride ink.  I set it off to the side to let it dry, I usually let it dry overnight.  For the flower I used the Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive pencils.  When I was happy with my flower, I used a Dave's Die to cut it out with.  I popped it up on dimensional and I use some Basic Pearls to add to the background.  The sentiment is also from this stamp set and I use Early Espresso ink as well as card stock, which I mounted on Blushing Bride card stock for the base.

I really like how the Watercolor Wash stamp came out and will be using it more often now!

Paper Pumpkin Easter Cards

Hey everyone happy Friday!  I had some time on Sunday to play with my March 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.  The kit came with cards that were 3" x 3" but I wanted to have bigger cards, so I cut them on the score line and just used half of the card and made a bigger card!  The card bases are modeled off of the Playful Palette Designer Series paper in the annual catalog.  The colors are Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  It also came with matching Baker's Twine!

These cards were very simple and easy to make!  Mary

Fry Box Easter Bunnies

Well we are getting closer to Easter now and I thought I would share these cute Easter Bunny Fry Boxes.  The Fry die is a retired one from Stampin' Up!, but Sizzix had one that was a little bit bigger also, I don't know if it is still available or not.

I belong to a Demonstrator Only Facebook page and a fellow demonstrator posted these on the page awhile back.  I tried to find her name and the post but had no luck finding it.  I did use some retired Designer Series paper for this.

My oldest daughter request these after I showed her a picture, she wants to put a treat in them for Wesley's daycare teachers, I think they will like them!

I use the Stitched Framelits along with some of my retired punches, which I still like to use.  The whiskers were made with Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine.

I just think these turned out so cute.  I think Wesley's teachers will like them too!

Have a great day!  Mary

Tasty Truck

Good morning on this fine Monday, I hope that spring is has sprung in your part of the world.  This past week-end it was here in the mid-West and we thoroughly enjoyed having the windows and doors open to air the stale winter air out of the house!

This past Saturday was my youngest daughter's 32nd birthday, where has the time gone too!!

Since I was too busy to make cards the last two weeks of Sale-A-Bration, I decided to go ahead and make some cards with this retired stamp set anyway, it's just too cute not to use!

Her favorite color is purple, so I used Perfect Plum for her truck and tried my hand at watercoloring the truck in.  I did use Whisper White card stock for this, but would suggest you use Watercolor paper  it just works better.  For the rest of the scene, I used stamps from Sheltering Tree, along with Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake inks.  I used a Crushed Curry maker for the awning of the truck along with Smoky Slate for the window highlights and tires.  Pink Pirouette was used for the ice cream and icing on the cupcakes.  I sponged the sky with Sky Blue.

While I was at it, I made one in pink for my other daughter, her favorite color, as her birthday is in two weeks too!

My daughter texted me and said that her card was cute, so I think she liked it!

Off to the craft room, see you soon.  Mary

Touches of Textures

Today I want to share a card that I made after watching a video by Jackie Bolhuis.  You can view the video HERE  it makes a really nice, easy, quick card, I just love this technique!

I used the same stamp set, inks and paper as Jackie did except I use a larger card base as my husband wanted to send his friend a thank you card for the time he was visiting at their house.

I used the Another Thank You stamp set for the sentiment, it is retired, but any stamp set you have would be perfect!!

Thanks for coming and hopefully I'll have a little Easter bunny to share with you and some birthday ideas too!  Mary

So In Love

Well, long time no see, huh!!  Sorry I was gone for awhile, my daughter had foot surgery three weeks ago and I went to stay with her off and on for the last two weeks, so no crafting supplies came along with me as I rode the Amtrak train down to the city where she lives.  I love riding the train but it would have been hard to do anything while riding along the rails!

My other daughter had another request for a Bridal Shower card, so I used the So In Love stamp set along with the framelits that coordinate with the stamps called So Detailed Thinlits.  They are in the Occasions 2017 catalog.  I also used the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon, Falling in Love Embellishment too.  I also used Blushing Bride, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla card stock.

I made three cards for her to choose from and here they are!!  Thank you Sarah-Jane Rae for sharing your card so that I could CASE it and also SU!, as one of the cards was a Make & Take from last November OnStage that I went to.

Thank you for coming by and hopefully life will calm down for awhile now!!  Mary
