Pretty Kitty and Bella and Friends

I've been needing a lot of cards of late for people who are going through cancer treatment.  One is the vet where we take our dogs.  She was so kind, helpful and thoughtful when our black Cocker Spaniel was going through her cancer ordeal.  I wanted to send her a card to let her know we are thinking of her and praying for her, but I wanted to include images of a dog and a cat, so I used two sets, Pretty Kitty and Bella and Friends.  I really like how cute this card turned out too!

This is what I stamped on the inside of the card, I covered up what I wrote to her.

I used Staz-On Black ink to stamp the images in.  Then I used my ink pads and Aqua Painter to add color to the images.  Tip:  if you are getting too much water out of your Aqua painter, just remove the barrel where the water is and just use the brush part.  If your brush get to dry, just dip the brush in the water and continue your coloring.  I used the Stitched Circle Framelits to cut out the kitty image with, then layer behind it some Sale-A-Bration Glimmer paper, Mint Macaron, which is so pretty in real life, photos do not do it justice, with the Layering Circle Framelits.  The Designer Series Paper is from Succulent Garden, this pattern is Sweet Sugarplum.

Well off to get some more stamping done, see you again soon!  Mary

Inside the Lines

Stampin' Up! every year has a annual sale in March called Sale-A-Bration.  Customers always look forward to this time of the year.  When you spend $50 before taxes and shipping, you get to pick a free product from a list of items that they offer.  This year one of the free offerings is paper that looks like a giant coloring book page called Inside the Lines.  I decided to cut one of the sheets into sizes that would work as a card front, then set out coloring it with my Watercolor Pencils and used the Blender Pen to smooth out the color.  Here is what I did on my second try.  I tried to remember what my Art teacher taught us in Junior High, oh so many years ago!!

I used Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black.  The Pumpkin Pie seam binding ribbon is retired but I wanted some kind of embellishment on the card front.  I made this card to send to someone that needs a pick-me-up.  It makes me think of summer!

Thank you for stopping by.  Mary

Rose Wonder

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a local news anchor.  The news anchor Mother is going through chemo and I asked her if it would be okay to send her a card, she quickly said yes!  So I made this card to send to the news station, so she could pass it onto her Mom.  I hope she enjoys it.

I found this idea at Julie Davison blog.  You use the Rose Garden Thinlits to cut out the largest rose with the leaves, using it as a stencil.  I then used a Aqua Painter and the ink from the lid of my Pink Pirouette to paint in the image, then did the same with Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  I used the sentiment from Wetlands and added a few Basic Pearls.  The card base is Pink Pirouette, then retired Regal Rose, which is what I used to stamp the sentiment in.  Final layer of card stock is Whisper White.

All in all, it is a pretty easy card to make!  Mary

Nailed It

Good Monday to all, I hope your week-end was wonderful.

Last Friday was my uncles birthday, so I wanted to send him a birthday card with this new set called, Nailed It.  When I saw this set in the current Occasions catalog, I immediately thought of my Dad who is a retired carpenter!  Then I knew it would also make a great Father's day card, as well for any one who is handy!

I really like how it turned out too.  I used Sky's the Limit sentiment-retired and Hexagon embossing folder, but my uncle will not know!

Stamp set: Hardwood background and Nailed It with matching Framelits
Card stock: Night of Navy, Real Red and Smoky Slate
Ink: Smoky Slate, Night of Navy and Black Memento
Silver Foil Sheets
Dimensionals

Well off to get my house clean, have a good one.  Mary

Totally Trees and Day at the Beach

About two weeks ago my daughter and her little family got to go to Florida for five days, her in-laws were very generous and they paid for their air fare to come and stay with them at the condo they rent each February.  Now it would have been great, but both my daughter and grandson were sick, grandson had a double ear infection and daughter had a nasty sinus infection, but the plane tickets had been purchased over a month ago, so off they went.  It was Wesley's first time to be at the beach and the ocean.  They were still able to enjoy themselves too.

I decided that I would make a couple of thank you cards for my daughter to send to her in-laws, thanking them for a wonderful trip.  I couldn't decided which one to give her, so I gave them both to her and she can decide which to send.

The first one is made with the retired Totally Trees, which just retired, which I CASE'd from Sabrina.

I found this card on Pinterest, which was a full size card but I used the Note cards to make this.
Ink: Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

For the second card, I used a current Occasions set called Day at the Beach.

The Thank You is retired.  Markers: Peekaboo Peach, Real Red, Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay and I used the new Watercolor Pencils to color in the sunglass lens with Basic Gray.  Images where stamped with Black Staz-On.

I hope you all have a relaxing week-end too.  Mary

Thoughtful Branches

Things have been busy around my house the last week or two, but I found time to make a couple of birthday cards for my two aunts who live out of town.  I wanted to make them special and I looked through my stamp sets and found Thoughtful Branches, which is retired.  This set was only available for one month last summer and I really debated on if I should buy it or not, but I figured I could use it for many years to come, so I got it.  It makes a really pretty hydrangea flower with the Thinlits that were available to go with it.  I also used the Jar of Love stamp set and matching framelits and I really like how they both turned out!  Thank you Krystal De Leeuw for sharing your card, which is what I CASE'd.

Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Sahara Sand , Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive
Stamp sets: Jar of Love, Thoughtful Branches (used matching Thinlits for both sets), Endless Birthday Wishes and Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Craft White, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Sugarplum, Black Memento and Smoky Slate
Brick Wall embossing folder
Dimensionals

I hope they enjoy this summer flower in the middle of winter!  Mary
