Sad News

Hi everyone, I hope your week is off to a great start!  I just got home yesterday after being in Salt Lake City for the Stampin' Up! convention.  Man was it alot of fun too and got tons of inspiration for cards and projects, will try and share some of those in the future.

My sad news is that my daughter and her fiance have postpone the wedding.  Things are a bit strained right now between the two of them.  While we really do like Justin, we know this is the right thing for them to do, but I doubt that they will be getting married at all.  While we are sad, we know that it is better for them to find this out before they get married rather then after and we wish Justin the best and have no hard feelings towards him at all.  So I have 96 wedding invitations, 96 response cards and 100 thank you cards sitting in my craft room, I know it is just paper and I'm not upset but does anyone have any ideas on how I can repurpose these items??  If you do, please leave me a comment, thanks!

Off to do more laundry, see you soon!

Mixed Bunch

Today I will share swap number four that I made.

My friend Chanda Stehlik, who is my upline, sends me card kits once a month and this card was one she sent too me a couple months ago.  Now she used a different color of card stock but I didn't have that color so I used this color for the technique I wanted to do.  I outlined the stamped image with a VersaMarker to give it a shadow.  You can see Chanda's card HERE

Nature's Walk

Good morning to everyone!  Have you all been surviving this horrible heat we've been having?  My favorite place to be is in the craft room!

As you can see I've been busy creating cards the last couple of weeks.  This one is one that I CASE'D from Linda Walsh and you can see her pretty cards HERE.  I'm going to be in a general swap and this is one of the designs I wanted to use because it is simple yet very pretty too!  I went with simple but you could easily add pearls, ribbon and other embellishments to step it up too!

Recipe

Card stock: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and Perfect Plum
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant
Stamps: Nature's Walk, En Francais and Blessings from Heaven

Thanks for stopping in today, be back real soon.     Mary

Sympathy Card

Well tomorrow is the 4th of July, do you all have plans made for this day of celebration?  We will be spending it at home, with the dogs, and have a quite day.  I will probably be in the craft room creating if I can!

One of my husband's former co-workers recently passed away and I made this card to send to her husband.  She was in her early 40's, way to young to pass, but she had been battling cancer.  I sure wish they could find a cure for all cancers.

Oh how I wish I had taken a better picture of this.  I found this card on someone's blog, if I find out who I will come back and put in the information to get credit  and a link to the orginial creator of it.  All you do is emboss the front of your card base with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, then ink up a sponge dabuber with some ink, ink the raised areas, stamp your sentiment and your done.  I did add a few pearls and some Shimmer paint to add some extra interest to it.  I also spritzed it with some homemade glimmer mist.  Click on the picture to get a closer view.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set, which I can't seem to remember right now, but you could use any sentiment you wanted.

I hope you all have a safe holiday too,    Mary

Happy Birthday Dad

Wow, can you believe that I'm still posting pictures that I had a chance to make in June?!  I hope that you are not getting bored with them too!

My dad's birthday was on June 23rd, he turned 85 this year!  He is doing well health wise except that he has Alzheimer's Disease.  I know that at times he can be a hand full for my mom but at least he is sweet and lovable still and likes to give us kisses when he sees us, but I don't think he remembers our names but he does recognize us.  I keep telling her to bring him over so I can watch him so she can have some free time but she won't do it.

Here is a card that I made with a set that I hadn't used yet (hanging head in shame here), so I wanted to give it a try.  I wanted to use a bright color and so I got my Color Coach out and this is the color combo it suggested to use!  It is bright alright.  The little glitter hearts are some that I had left-over from another card.

All products are Stampin' Up!

Card stock: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red
Stamp set: Pennant Parade, and a Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Outline ? (can't remember), retired
Petite Pennant Builder punch
Markers
Ink:Tempting Turquoise and Real Red
Mini Brads

Well soon the 4th will be here, hope you have a great week,      Mary
